FeuerTrutz 2024: The biggest edition of all times

FeuerTrutz clearly demonstrates its role as the largest and most important exchange and knowledge platform for preventive fire protection in Europe.

Visitors at FeuerTrutz

The role of FeuerTrutz as the largest and most important interaction and knowledge platform for preventive fire protection in Europe has been made clear again. After two full-on days, the trade fair closed with some impressive figures. Of the 276 exhibitors, 52 came from outside Germany (2023: 42). With around 6,300 visitors from 44 countries, the international share has increased significantly compared to the previous year by around 50 per cent. The overall event also showed continued growth, making it the largest to date in terms of space. The Fire Protection Congress also impressed with expert discussions on current industry topics. In addition to the wide range of innovations at the exhibitors’ stands, the comprehensive supporting programme was also impressive.

“More international, bigger, great atmosphere in the halls – after two extremely successful days at the trade fair, this is a summary we are very happy with,” says Stefan Dittrich, Director FeuerTrutz at NürnbergMesse. “Together with our partner RM Rudolf Müller Medien, we are already looking forward to seeing the fire protection community again in Nuremberg in 2025.”

The feedback from exhibitors also speaks for itself. “In our personal discussions, the majority rated the overall success of their participation in the exhibition as positive, and they were able to reach their key target groups. The exhibitors had particular praise for the high proportion of decision-makers present,” Dittrich adds. This is also confirmed by the independent visitor survey: nine out of ten trade visitors play a part in their company’s decision-making.

The new highlights of FeuerTrutz 2024

The two new highlights in the supporting programme were extremely well received: the neext Future Forum, where visitors were able to follow various panel discussions and workshops on the topic of fire safety in an increasingly urban and networked world. There was also the new seminar by asecos on “Safe handling of hazardous substances in the working environment”, which combined knowledge sharing with illustrative live experiments and practical tips.

Proven supporting programme items again part of the line-up

Following its successful launch at FeuerTrutz 2023, the Forum by asecos academy was also continued this year and was once again very well received. In addition to the live experimental lecture, highlights included topics such as handling lithium-ion batteries, fluorinated and fluorine-free foaming agents, fire protection in ventilation systems and fire protection through hot-dip galvanizing. In addition to exciting interviews and panel discussions, the A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO DIGITISATION forum featured four display areas from exhibitors for the first time, showcasing practical solutions in the field of digitalization. The Fire Protection EXPERIENCE once again attracted trade visitors with exciting fire protection demonstrations on the large outdoor presentation area and indoors at individual exhibition stands. The pavilion startups@FeuerTrutz grew impressively from four to 15 exhibitors this year, demonstrating the innovative power of the industry. The fully booked FeuerTrutz After Work, held in the Max Morlock Stadium on the first evening of the trade fair, was once again a popular way for guests to network in a relaxed atmosphere.

Themes of current interest also at the fire protection congress

The Fire Protection Congress tackled all the hot topics in preventive fire protection: What is happening in building regulations? What are the risks from PV systems installed on roofs in Germany? How do you build safely and in compliance with the law using wood, even in Germany’s building class 5? What contribution can preventive fire protection make to a more sustainable construction industry? Around 40 experts shared their expertise and discussed with the participants to ensure that fire safety managers can keep pace with current and future challenges. André Gesellchen, Head of the Fire Protection Programme at RM Rudolf Müller Medien, sums up the event: “The Fire Protection Congress 2024 once again confirmed its position as the leading specialist event for preventive fire protection in the German-speaking countries. The inspiring discussions and sharing of knowledge among the more than 1,300 registered congress participants (including 290 online) underlines the importance of the selected topics that are currently occupying the industry. The compact seminar BRANDSCHUTZDIREKT extinguishing technology, in cooperation with the Federal Association for Technical Fire Protection (Bundesverband Technischer Brandschutz, bvfa), was also very well attended again with 90 registered participants.”
